WHAT NEXT AFTER 2026 JAMB

After taken 2026 JAMB UTME, the next step is very important for every candidate. Your JAMB score alone does not guarantee admission, so you must start planning wisely now.

Here are the key things every candidate should do:

1. Check Your JAMB Result Carefully
Confirm your score, subject combination, and personal details. Print and keep your result slip safe for future use.
2. Compare Your Score With School Cut-Off Marks

Check your chosen institution’s general and departmental cut-off marks to know your admission chances. Competitive courses usually require higher scores.
3. Decide if You Need Change of Course or Institution
If your score is low for your chosen course or school, consider changing to a less competitive course or another institution early.
4. Prepare for Post-UTME or Screening
Do not wait until forms are released before studying. Start preparing immediately because Post-UTME performance can determine admission success.
5. Upload Your O’Level Result to JAMB CAPS
Candidates using awaiting result should upload their WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB result immediately it is available.
6. Monitor School Portals and JAMB CAPS Regularly
Schools will soon announce screening forms, deadlines, and admission updates. Always check JAMB CAPS to monitor your admission status.
7. Stay Focused and Avoid Panic
A high score does not guarantee admission, and a low score does not mean failure. Make informed decisions and stay positive throughout the admission process
