The University of Lagos (UNILAG) recently hosted a presentation ceremony to formally hand over a brand-new 2025 Alsvin Mikano car to Babatunde Ayomide Emmanuel, winner of the MTN Campus Invasion competition.

The official handover was conducted by the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola (FAS), in the presence of university executives and the winner’s parent. Professor Ogunsola commended MTN Nigeria for its sustained commitment to youth empowerment and educational development across the country.

Babatunde, a 100-level student of Industrial Mathematics, emerged winner of the competition, which featured a ₦35 million brand-new vehicle as its grand prize. The Campus Invasion programme, organised by the telecommunications giant, was designed to reward customer engagement and loyalty among students.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the importance of responsible corporate citizenship.

“It is truly gratifying to witness a private sector entity not only providing essential services but also directly investing in the future of our students,” she said. “This vehicle represents a significant start for the young recipient.”

In his remarks, Babatunde expressed deep gratitude to MTN Nigeria and the university leadership.

“I am deeply honoured and genuinely grateful to MTN Nigeria for this extraordinary gift. Receiving the keys with my parent here from the Vice-Chancellor today marks a momentous occasion that I will never forget,” he said. “This car is a pivotal asset for my future endeavours, and I thank everyone involved.”

The winner further noted that the vehicle would play a crucial role in advancing his entrepreneurial aspirations.

The presentation ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the MTN Campus Invasion initiative at UNILAG, reinforcing MTN Nigeria’s position as a leading corporate partner within the academic communities
