5. Registration
Cross-check all details and make sure everything is accurate before final submission at the centre.
IMPORTANT TIPS
- Make all necessary corrections with NIMC early and confirm they reflect on your portal before registration (e.g., Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State of Origin).
- Your GSM number and email address are unique identifiers. They cannot be changed or shared and must be functional before registration.
- If you face biometric issues, visit the nearest JAMB Office.
- Do NOT allow any CBT centre to register you forcefully.
- Ensure a dual screen is used during registration, and confirm that your passport photograph and biometrics are captured correctly.
COMMON ERRORS ENCOUNTER DURING PROFILE CODE GENERATION
1. RECORD NOT FOUND
Solution: Visit the nearest NIMC office for validation.
2. WRONG PARAMETER
This happens when the text message
format is incorrect.
Solution: Resend the correct format:
NIN your-NIN-number to 55019 or 66019.
3. NIN ALREADY REGISTERED WITH A GSM NUMBER
This means your profile code was previously generated using
another phone number.
Solution: Retrieve that SIM card and send the request again using the
same number.
4. UNABLE TO VERIFY YOUR NIN AT THE MOMENT (NIMC: UNKNOWN)
This occurs when the server is temporarily unavailable.
Solution: Wait and try again later.
